what was you scared of as a child? Have you over came thoes fears.
I was scared of dead people. I always thought the person in the casket was going to sit up or open their eyes when I would be up by the casket.

I had two fears as a child, and I still have them today. When I was six I became extremely pyrophobic. Over the years it's gotten better, but it is still
there. I was also afraid of being in new places, because I was terrified of getting lost. I still am, but I work really hard at controlling that one.

When I was a little girl, I remember cringing at the sight of my Aunt and Uncle after they had been in a really bad motorcycle accident. They were covered from
head to toe in these massivly huge scrapes and bruses. I've had a fear of motorcycles every since. But that hasn't stopped me from getting on them
though, and some day I'd like to have one of my own because they do look like fun. My fear of them is more of a very healthy respect for what they are
capable of doing to you.

I was afraid of bees as little kid ever since I got stung at the pool one day. Mr. Bee was innocently sitting in the same towel I was drying myself with and he
freaked out and stung me. Now I don't mind them so much mainly because of the if I don't bother it, it won't bother me mentality. Still try to
avoid them though.
I also disliked heights and driving mainly because of nightmares about both.... I had strange dreams as a kid.

I was scared of tornadoes, storms, the dark, elevators, gym class, the water, bees !!
LOL I'm over the storm fear, mostly over the dark fear ;), got over the elevator fear at 26 ... still don't like sports or swimming pools...I run from bees

I'm a bit claustrophobic.....I have been since I was very small. It only shows up at certain times, though.

I've been acrophobic since I was a kid and I still am. Don't know what caused it. I've never lived in a place that was more than two stories high
and I've never been on a plane. But if I had the chance to get on a plane I would take it in a heart beat. Not because I'm anxious to get over my fear,
I just think it would be exciting to see what it's like.

I was never afraid of flying when I was a child, but I am now. I used to fly all the time, and it never bothered me......but the older I got, more afraid I
became. Now, the only way I would get into a plane would be if there were no other alternative.

When I got old enough to drive I developed a fear of bridges. I always hold my breath and tense up when we cross them. especially if they are really high up,
really narrow, or over large bodies of water. But only when I am the one driving. It dont really bother me if I am the passenger

I was scared of paper!! I think it started with a sheet of wallpaper that was hanging off at the bottom of the stairs. I always thought it would grab me when i
went past. I have no idea why. Later it developed into those paper dress up dolls. I was terrified.
Ahem I'm over it now.

This isn't a childhood fear, but when I first started driving, I was terrified of these portable cement barriers they put on the freeway to block off sections of the road. It always felt like I was going to crash into them. |

Wow, the things we attach fear to when we're young. One day when my mom was doing laundry, the washing machine got off balance or something, and it started
shaking and making a loud noise. It terrified me, I though it was going to chase me, so from that point on I would not go anywhere near a washing machine. When
my mom would do laundry, I would hide in my room until she was finished.

I've a fear of bookshelves falling over....I think that came from hearing about some guy who died because he had the pack rat problem (I honestly don't
recall what it's really called) and some of the stacks of junk he had fell on and smothered him.
but yeah....I know how much books weigh....I don't want any of my book shelves falling over on me

every since i was a very small child i was scared of bridges, over passes, anything like that i always held my breath and closed my eyes, i am still scared of
them, but since i am the driver most the time i don't close my eyes anymore but still hold my breath

When I was thirteen, I went through a phase where I was afraid of dogs. Not all dogs, just ones of a certain size. I would pannic if one even came anywhere
near me. I was attacted by a big dog one day when I was walking home from school, and that is what triggered it. I eventually grew out of it

I think I went through a very short phase of being afraid to get into an elevator. I don't know what caused it, I was really little.

My mother told me when I was three, I was afraid of the dome light in the car. She said I called it a "middle" and I would cry whenever it came on

Spiders... still spiders. Saw a B movie when I was five called "Attack of the Giant spiders"
And anything thats bites or stings. I am allergic to stings and have been hospitalised several times. one time i was sailing in France and got stung by a hornet. Almost drowned. In fact the other morning before my exam I was throwing up and all sorts. i thought it might be nerves but dragged myself to my exam. Anyways, later on I felt better and my other half notice a mark on my arm. I had been bitten after waking up (because from 8-10am I felt fine). It must have been a small fucker because i recovered after a few hours... Ergo i have a fear of creepy crawlies. |
